Warmer Weather is Here!
It always seems that the Winter months last longer than all the other months throughout the year. However, the long wait is over! Officially, the first day of Spring is Sunday March 20th, but we have already got a taste of it the past week. With temperatures slowly rising and the sun shining through a little more, it puts everyone in a better mood. You get to see your neighbors you havenโt seen in a while walking their dog longer, see people in the community visiting the local park more, and simply get to go outside for longer periods of time. It is proven that the warmer weather will put you in a better mood so we can officially say goodbye to the seasonal depression we all have experienced through the cold months. Although the past few months have been tough, we can now look forward to the springtime that open up many doors for us and our community.
Positivity
We always want to spread positivity through our nonprofit, as our mission is to bring that happiness to those veterans in need of some in their lives. It is difficult to encourage others to stay positive when you are snowed in, temperatures are below 0 degrees, and it is nearly impossible to have that human interaction we all crave. Everyone seems to crawl into this dark cave during the winter, but now it is time to come out and appreciate the beauty this life has to offer. Make it a goal to get outside once a day and experience it for yourself. Watch the flowers start to bloom. Reach out to a friend you havenโt seen and ask to take a walk in the park. This is the serotonin boost that everyone needs and there is no better time than now. Use this shift in weather and seasons to start making new goals. Strive every day to be better than you were yesterday, results will slowly start to show. We are looking forward to spreading positivity through these warmer months and getting to connect with you all on a different level!
What Spring Means to Us
For us specifically, we cannot wait for warmer weather. Warmer weather allows us more opportunities to donate scooters to disabled veterans in need. Yes, we still deliver in the colder months, but it makes the process that much easier. With no snow on the ground, our veterans are able to explore their scooter to its full potential and not have to worry about sinking in the snow and slush. Warm weather makes the entire experience much more meaningful. We can spend the time to sit and talk with our veterans and their families and connect on a deeper level. The delivery does not feel as rushed when you can sit outside and enjoy the sun.
Spring also means we can have more events in hopes to raise more awareness and funds for our nonprofit. Planning fundraisers in the Winter are tough because you never know what the weather will bring each day. It could have a serious impact on the turnout of events. With the springtime, we can have more events and expect to see a lot more in attendance. Fundraising events are huge for us to share our mission with more people in the area. As easy as it is to connect with everyone through social media, it is not the same. Getting that human interaction and being able to have an in-person conversation is priceless.
We hope you are just as excited as we are to enter springtime! It feels like we waited forever, but it is finally here, and we will not waste this opportunity. Enjoy the sunshine, you know you will miss it when its gone. Set your goals and plans of action to achieve them. Why wait?
